Chocolate Banana Cupcake

Chocolate cupcake filled with banana cream pie filling, frosted with banana cream cheese frosting and dusted with dark chocolate.

    • Well, I have to admit…I used a boxed cake mix for the cupcake – and I regretted it. Not that the cupcake was bad, the other parts were so delicious they deserved a homemade cake. The frosting was AMAZING and it was 1 block of cream cheese, 1 stick of butter (room temp), a little vanilla extract, 1 banana, and powdered sugar to your desired sweetness – a few cups and all whipped together until creamy and smooth. For the filling I used my go to banana cream pie recipe - and just added chopped bananas to the custard mixture ones it cooled slightly instead of pouring the mixture on top like it says to do in the recipe. These were delicious but next time I make them I’ll definitely make the cake from scratch. And if you were closer I’d make you sample :).

  1. The pictures make it look even better than it tasted, but that is truly not possible! Yum, Yum and Super Yum! They looked amazing and tasted better.
